Blake and Ben played catch on the stairs. I was a little paranoid with Blake and all the stairs and ledges at the cabin, but he indeed survived, with only a few close calls. He's a busy, adventurous boy!
We took our favorite rocky point hike but extended it on toward rainbow point this year. Blake walked about two miles; the rest of us 4.5 miles or so. And there it was we captured my favorite picture of the year:
The cousins arrived and went straight out onto the boat. The girls:

Of course we had to have the traditional wiener roast with the cousins:
And then said our sad goodbyes:
But, lucky us! they came back after less than an hour! We made room for more sleeping bodies in the cabin and got excited about having another day with the cousins. The next morning, Jeff and I took the kids on a walk to Lakeshore for ice cream. Ethan and Bryant went by canoe.
We walked on the docks and chatted with the Sheriff about his job. He gave each of the kids a lollipop.

Here's a memorable moment I caught on camera: Eliza and I were sitting on the beach while Jeff took the kids for turns on the jetski. Eliza was getting VERY whiny about having to wait for so long. When a duck swam by, I told her if she caught it, then she could keep it for a pet :) The first pic here is of her swimming after the duck. The second is of her back on the beach, lamenting her failure.
Thank you to Granny and Papa (Jeff's parents) for allowing us to enjoy this beautiful place in their wonderful cabin. It is a home away from home for all of us!
