Instead of the original plan of driving to Oregon on Ben's birthday, we delayed our departure for a day so we could do a little celebrating. He just wasn't buying the "we'll make the day special even though we'll spend the whole day in the car" business.
So Saturday afternoon Jeff took Ben and Eliza to Pixieland and Ben came home just high as a kite saying that he had his birthday party at Pixieland. But in our mind, the party was when the Jeneveins, Michaelsens and Hiatts joined us for a barbeque dinner at our house that afternoon. Afterward, we walked down the street to the Singing Flag, an annual 4th of July treat. Ben watched very little of the Singing Flag as he was focused on his new Perplexus (awesome toy, by the way).

So Happy Birthday to Ben. Every year with you is full of adventure, that's for sure. We love you!

How fun! I remember doing this together years ago. It is fun to know that it is still going on! Miss you!
